The Client
Adverse Online are the people you go to when you’re struggling to get a mortgage through the usual routes. The owner, Tony, has years of experience helping people with bad credit (or anything else that scares lenders like self-employed income) find the best mortgage possible. His process of manually matching clients to lenders was overdue a technological update as it made his job much more laborious than it needed to be.
Their Challenge
When we met, Tony’s process relied heavily on human intervention. Clients would fill out a large document with all the information needed to assess them for mortgage conditions. The applicant overview was then compared to the requirements and offers of different brokers and mortgage lenders. Once he’d gone through the whole list of providers, he’d come up with a list of viable vendors and their interest rates for his clients to choose from.
It was a lot of manual work which might not end in a payday as he offers the service for free, relying on the referral fee from the lender. If he wasn’t able to find a viable mortgage offer for a client, he wouldn’t get anything for his time and effort.
Our Solution
We systemised the whole process from intake to application. Similar to a Go Compare or Compare the Market type system, clients fill in a form with their details and this is saved onto the system. Using the given information, the system automatically checks lenders and rates based on the rules of each provider. The system draws up the list of viable lenders and rates for the client. It collects their contact information so eligible clients can be guided through the next steps.
But it doesn’t end there. Once the client chooses a lender and rate, they need to add the extra details to secure the mortgage such as logging each instant of adverse debt. This is all done in the same system. As the application phase is a lengthier one, we made sure to include the ability for clients to save their progress and come back to their application. The system takes clients, you guessed it, end to end of the mortgage application process.
Where they are now
Adverse Online’s custom mortgage matching system turned a hands-on process into a hands-off one. Tony doesn’t have to spend time matching individual circumstances to the long list of lenders. It’s all automated. The number of clients he can work with has skyrocketed in an instant! And Tony no longer has to work for free. Ineligible leads don’t cost him or his business any time.
An automated system benefits his clients too. They can find out what mortgages they are eligible for on demand. They don’t have to wait for Tony to be available.
